Normally I camp in more secluded campgrounds, and I was a little in shock with how non-secluded the sites were. Even though it was a holiday weekend, it was not too loud. They did seem to be having septic issues- the restrooms and laundry facilities were closed several times while they pumped the system out
Scheduled my family for a 2 day stay as a step around Lake Superior. I will go back here for a longer period next year to do some more exploration of the miles of trails.
An annual campground for me, even though there are no hookups available (1 handicap site has electric & water). Arrived on a friday night and was able to camp on a site which was not reserved for that evening and moved to a first-come site the next morning. The ReserveAmerica farce of a system is getting better- but still leaves much to be desired. Even though the state laws were changed, the ranger would not let us camp on a vacated first-come site.
